SUNY Fredonia trio places 11th at regional computing sciences competition
A team of students in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences placed 11th in competition at the 28th annual conference of the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Northeast Region held April 12 and 13 in Albany, NY.

Residence Life names Henry Zelenak as April Student of the Month
Henry Zelenak, of Berne, N.Y., has been named Student of the Month for March by the Office of Residence Life.
Goetz named recipient of SUNY’s McConney award
Emma R. Goetz, a May 2023 candidate for graduation from SUNY Fredonia with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems, was one of 46 students from throughout the State University of New York selected to receive the Norman R. McConney Jr. Award for Student Excellence.
Kasling Lecture to be presented, Hagan award recipient to be recognized, on Oct. 1
“A Celebration of Student-centered Research” is the topic of the 42nd Robert W. Kasling Memorial Lecture, to be presented by Dr. Junaid Zubairi of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m., in Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall.
Summer coding camp held for area youngsters
The Department of Computer and Information Sciences hosted a two-week computer coding camp in July for 15 students from local middle schools in Forestville, Fredonia and Silver Creek.
