Students perform essential work during general election
Several Fredonia students had the unique experience of being at ground zero – working lengthy 16-hour or longer shifts at polls in Chautauqua, Niagara and Cattaraugus counties – during the hotly contested general election.

Sarah Conticello, a junior from Lake Grove on Long Island, majoring in Childhood Inclusive Education, with a concentration in Natural Sciences, has been selected as one of 27 students throughout SUNY to serve on its newly formed Student Voices Action Committee.
Rosa Parks Scholarships to be awarded at ceremony
Scholarships valued at $350 each will be awarded to three students at the Rosa Parks Scholarship Competition awards ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at noon, in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

Athletic activities suspended on campus
The Chautauqua County Health Department has notified SUNY Fredonia that a member of the Athletics Department staff has tested positive for COVID-19. The health department is conducting contact tracing of all close contacts.
Dickinson receives Residence Life honor
Parker Dickinson, a senior Biochemistry major from Horseheads, has been named Resident Assistant of the Month by the Residence Life Student Recognition Committee.
Smiley first guest on debut of the Blue Devil Banter Podcast
The Blue Devil Banter Podcast has been created to connect the Fredonia community with Blue Devil Athletics. In the first episode of 2020, co-hosts Josh Schmit and Sports Information Director Jerry Reilly interview Men's Basketball Coach Sean Smiley.
