Cara Pellechia

Just as she did for the Indoor SUNYAC Meet, freshman Cara Pellechia became a conference champion at the Outdoor SUNYAC Meet. The freshman from Hilton cleared 3.35m (10' 11 ¾'') to take the crown. She bested second place Becca Bready of Cortland by 5 ¾'' (0.15m).  Pellechia's height was just shy of her indoor mark of 3.40m.

Pellechia followed in the footsteps of Haley Lerner, who won the SUNYAC Meet with an identical 3.35m last year. Lerner is recovering from off-season rehab.

Marisa Starvino also competed for the Devils on Friday. The senior from East Northport finished 14th in the hammer throw with a distance of 32.71 (107' 3'').
