McCrone sets new school record in the 50-yard backstroke

The Fredonia State men's swimming and diving team competed in day one of the SUNYAC meet on Feb. 21. The highlight of the night for Fredonia State came when Patrick McCrone set a new school record in the 50-yard backstroke. 

McCrone led off the 200 medley relay in a time of 23.95, besting the record of 24.46 that he set at last year's SUNYAC Championship.

Other notable performances for the Devils on day one of competition came in the 800 yard freestyle relay. The Devils placed seventh just in front of Potsdam and a few seconds off of Oswego for sixth with a team score of 7:33.75.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
