The Fredonia State volleyball team took down Oneonta on Saturday, 3-1, in Dods Hall. Emma Foley paced the team with 10 kills and Sasha Zayatz had five aces. Olivia Boswell directed the offense to the tune of 27 assists.

Defensively, Erin Callahan had four blocks, Cayla Partsch had three, and Elora Sherman had 20 digs.

The Devils cruised to wins in the first two sets, 25-16 and 25-13. Oneonta bounced back with a 25-17 win, before the final set was narrowly won by the Devils, 25-24. 

Fredonia State is now 1-1 in the SUNYAC, while Oneonta falls to 0-2.

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
