Support group meetings for stroke and head-injury survivors start Sept. 18

Christine Davis Mantai

The Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at SUNY Fredonia will resume offering support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The group will meet the first and third Tuesday of the month at 3:00 PM in room W118 Thompson Hall.

A typical group meeting will include activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use strategies to improve communication skills, and to give them educational information and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not. Please contact Julie Williams, Coordinator 716-673-4618 for more information about attending the group.
