Roderick MacDonald was principal trumpet player in a trio of concerts from September through October this fall by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra of Germany. Directed by world class conductor Herbert Blomstedt, the orchestra and MacDonald performed in Leipzig, Stuttgart, & London.

The program included works by Anton Bruckner, Richard Wagner, and many others.

MacDonald, a member of the Fredonia School of Music faculty, has interviewed Professor Blomstedt for an upcoming issue of the International Trumpet Guild Journal for an article highlighting trumpet playing and its traditions in the orchestra.
