Proffitt authors monthly column in stage design publication

Todd Proffitt, associate professor of Theatre and resident Lighting Designer in the Department of Theatre and Dance, writes a continuing column on design and technical issues for the national trade publication for stage technicians and designers, Stage Directions.

His most recent column, appearing in the February issue, features a review showdown of several electrician wrenches. The wrenches were tested by student members of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology at Fredonia both in Marvel Theatre and at the Theatre of Youth in Buffalo. The web version features videos of Fredonia students testing the various wrenches.

Strauss to conduct area concerts

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
