Dr. Markus Vink to serve on Indian Ocean Series advisory board

Dr. Markus Vink from the Department of History has recently been invited and has accepted to serve as an Advisory Board Member of the Indian Ocean Studies Series published by the Ohio University Press.

The series offers established and younger scholars from anthropology, archeology, economics, geography, history, political science, and sociology the opportunity to publish conceptually and methodologically innovative studies on topics dealing with the Indian Ocean World such as human migration, cultural and religious diversity, trade and commerce, imperialism and colonialism, and globalization. Dr. Vink already serves as the Book Review Editor of the Journal of the Economic and Social History of the Orient (JESHO) published by Brill Academic Publishers and Research Associate of the Indian Ocean World Center (IOWC) at McGill University.

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
