The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has organized several free activities designed to enhance wellness and well-being.

The Faculty Student Association at Fredonia is hosting the second annual “Big Apple Crunch.” Campus and community members are invited to an “apple crunching” event on Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Cranston Marche in University Commons at 1 p.m.
“De-stress for Success,” a series of events, programs and workshops will be hosted by the Counseling Center and various other campus groups. All events are free to students and began on Monday and will conclude Thursday, May 12. The activities are organized to help students find a way to reduce stress in a productive and healthy manner and gain the focus they need to succeed during the end-of-the-semester time.
The Office of International Education will host the eighth annual Slush Rush 5K on Sunday, March 13, beginning in the Williams Center. The run/walk will benefit the Xylia Peterson ’85 Memorial Fund, a scholarship program that benefits international students on campus. ThIs event is open to all campus and community members
"Spring for Wellness," a showcase of wellness resources available in the surrounding community, will be held for Fredonia employees, their family members and retirees of the university on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
A varied lineup of wellness opportunities – from healthy cooking and fitness classes to Zumba and book club discussions – awaits faculty and staff during the spring semester, courtesy of Fredonia’s Employee Assistance Program. Programs begin with Zumba on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Fredonia received an A+ rating within a recent American Cancer Society report on tobacco-free campuses in New York State. Fredonia is one of only 14 campuses statewide in the 2015 "Dean's List" to receive the maximum rating, standing out among the 85 campuses listed in the report.
Members of the Fredonia campus community gathered at Cranston Marche on Wednesday, Oct. 21 to celebrate Crunch Day in honor of Food Day and local healthy eating. The Faculty Student Association, in collaboration with the campus Sustainability Committee, offered complementary apples for everyone to take the “crunch” together.
Fredonia’s observance of the National Smoke Out Day on Thursday, Nov. 12, falls shortly before the second anniversary of the university's designation as a tobacco-free campus. And, with cigarette butts still littering entrances of high-traffic buildings, organizers of this year’s commemoration say there’s still work to be done to truly become tobacco-free.
