A wide assortment of wellness activities and events for the fall semester has been assembled by the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for Fredonia faculty, staff and retirees.
The start of the fall semester at Fredonia also signals the return of twice-weekly employee Zumba and yoga classes offered by Fredonia’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The full EAP schedule, including dates and other details for the book club, healthy cooking demonstrations, Fall Soup & Salad Day and Path to Wellness Series, will be announced at a later date.
Runners and walkers – both those who are serious competitors or recreationally minded – are invited to participate in Fredonia’s second annual Veteran’s Day 5K Run, Walk and Roll on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m.
The Student Health Center, with support from FredAssist and STEPS, will offer confidential HIV testing for students on World AIDS Day, which is Friday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at LoGrasso Hall.
Veteran skiers and snowboarders, or those who would like learn how to master snow-covered slopes this winter, are invited to sign up for discounted packages at Holiday Valley, located in Ellicottville, through the Fredonia Ski and Ride Club.

The start of the spring semester ushers in a new round of programs and services offered by the Employee Assistance Program to Fredonia faculty and staff, their family members and retirees of the university. The offerings encompass assessment, resource information, referral services and assorted wellness events.
The Environmental Health and Safety and Sustainability department is continuing to offer the American Heart Association CPR / AED classes this semester, beginning in February. All courses currently scheduled are AHA HeartSaver level courses, and will be held at the office of Environmental Health and Safety and Sustainability, located in 140 Hendrix Hall.

In an effort to educate students and community members about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the HPV vaccine, the Chautauqua County Department of Health is hosting a free screening of the documentary, “Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic,” at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.
