A limited number of Yo-Yo Ma student concert tickets will be made available for sale at the beginning of September. The School of Music is aware that the demand for these tickets may far exceed the number available, so we have established a simple procedure to make sure that all interested students have an equal opportunity to attend this major event. Music Professor Joe Dan Harper performed as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood on Parade in August, the annual full-day of musical events that ends with a celebratory concert at the Tanglewood Music Center, which is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
The SUNY Fredonia all-male a capella group, "The Guerrillas," has been chosen to compete in a nationally televised singing contest this Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 9 p.m.

SUNY Fredonia is hosting throughout July two programs in The New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA): Choral Studies and Visual Arts. Both offer high school students from around the state intensive, pre-professional training with internationally acclaimed artists. Four public concerts and two art exhibits are planned.
The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music is excited to be continuing its Pathways to Music program at a new location in the fall - the gymnasium of the Campus & Community Children's Center. The Program is designed for children ages 6 months through 5 years old. The weekly classes are for one child and one accompanying parent or guardian.
The New Horizons Band of Western New York is completing its sixth season with a special summer session which will be held from July 6 through July 27. Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., except during the first week when the band will meet on Wednesday and Friday. The summer season will conclude with concerts scheduled on Thursday, July 29 at 7 pm at Ryckman Park Gazebo in the Village of Brocton and as part of the Fredonia Gazebo Concert Series at Barker Common on Friday, July 29 at 6:30 pm.
Set on the beautiful campus of SUNY Fredonia and housed in the university’s School of Music, the Fredonia Summer Music Festival takes advantage of the campus’ first-rate facilities and world-class teachers. Instrumental students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 are invited to attend during the festival, June 26 through July 2.
