SUNY Fredonia’s Hillel will be hosting multiple events celebrating Jewish History Month. Hillel will kick-off the celebration with a Holocaust speaker at its opening ceremonies on Thursday, April 3, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Williams Center Room S204ABC, funded by the Honors Program.
Four Fredonia students received awards at the 5th annual SUNYWide Film Festival and Symposium held on campus April 10 to 12. Those honored included Maisy Keller of Kingston, Kyra Slawski of Wading River, Jason Chadwick of Grand Island and Kirsten Vine of Corning.
Rockin' The Commons, Fredonia Radio Systems' annual Roswell Park Cancer Institute fundraiser event/ concert usually held in April, has been moved to Sept. 27 in Barker Commons. The organization will be hosting an alternative spring event, Rockin' The Spot, at the Tim Hortons Café and Bake Shop in the Williams Center on Thursday, April 24.
The Fredonia Poetry Festival will be held Monday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. in McEwen Hall Room 209. The festival is sponsored by the Writer's Ring, the Women’s Student Union and the Pride Alliance.

The 5th annual SUNYWide Film Festival & Symposium, to be hosted by SUNY Fredonia on April 10 to 12, will showcase the exceptional work of movie and filmmakers across the State University of New York system. The two-day competitive film festival will begin on Thursday, April 10, by celebrating the creation, research and instruction of the cinematic arts.
The Interactive Theatre Society and Nerf Club have teamed up to present Quarantine, an interactive game, on Sunday, April 13, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Steele Hall fieldhouse. For $5, groups of four people can enter the horror house with Nerf guns and attempt to rid the house of "zombies." Participants will need to race against time as they travel through the eight rooms in the house, facing different zombies with various powers.
