The Fredonia Wind Ensemble is featured in King Concert Hall on Saturday, Feb. 26, with a concert including an exciting variety and wide range of genres.

The free concert begins at 8 p.m. and the campus and community are invited to attend.

Repertoire will include Tailleferre's “Ouverture” arranged by John P. Paynter and Stravinsky's “Symphonies of Wind Instruments,” a symphony comprised of smaller symphonies. Carlos Simon’s “Amen!” pays homage to Simon’s family’s four generation affiliation with the Pentecostal church as he re-creates his musical experience of an African American Pentecostal church service. “Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5” by Villa Lobos, arranged by John Krance, explores the gorgeous woodwind timbres.

Dr. Paula Holcomb, ensemble conductor, adds, “Join us in closing with ‘Star Wars’ - and may the force be with us!!”
