Webpage recreated to recognize Fredonia College Foundation Scholarship recipients and benefactors
While the traditional Family Weekend Scholars Breakfast could not be held this year, University Advancement and the Fredonia College Foundation have established a special webpage to recognize Fredonia’s outstanding scholarship recipients and their benefactors.
There are video messages from SUNY Fredonia President Stephen H. Kolison Jr., Interim Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the Fredonia College Foundation Betty Gossett; and scholarship recipients including Brad Brown, a senior Biochemistry major who will continue his education next year at SUNY Upstate Medical University; and Aja Pandey, a senior Dance major and the recipient of the Dr. Georgiana von Tornow Scholarship. A special message is also included from benefactors and Fredonia alumni Deb (Ellwanger) Bruner, ’85, and Mark Bruner, ’82.
The names of all students who have received scholarships, identifying which scholarship(s) they have received, are listed on the webpage in alphabetical order by the student’s last name.
The university offers a special thank you to benefactors who've supported students through establishing a scholarship or supporting university programming. SUNY Fredonia is most appreciative.
In 2019, the Fredonia College Foundation distributed $3.2 million in scholarships, grants, and academic support.
The foundation's mission is to receive charitable gifts and build endowed funds to benefit Fredonia and its students. The foundation, which was established in 1964, has worked with alumni donors and friends to build 546 endowment funds with a total endowment value of $41 million. Its Nurturing Innovation campaign, focusing on raising funds to support Fredonia students, learning spaces, and innovative teaching, is slated to end in December, but is still accepting gifts to enhance the learning experience online.
