"Pink the Rink 2023" is just under 100 days away. The Fredonia State men's hockey team has chosen Saturday, Feb.  4, 2023 for its annual event. That evening the Blue Devils will take on Potsdam in a SUNYAC game starting at 7 p.m. in Steele Hall Ice Arena.

All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. The team is offering the same popular way for the jerseys to be purchased. Here's how it will work:

A donation of $250 will buy a jersey and allow the donor to place the name of someone that has battled cancer on the nameplate. Instead of having their own names on their jerseys, each of the Blue Devils will take to the ice that night representing someone who fought cancer.

"This generous tribute to a loved one will be seen by all in attendance at the game," Fredonia State Head Coach Jeff Meredith has said in making this announcement each year. "We feel it will be an inspirational evening and are excited about joining in the fight against breast cancer."

The donor will receive the jersey from the player during a post-game on-ice ceremony.

To make arrangements to purchase a jersey, contact Coach Meredith at 716-673-3334 or email him.
