Alexander Green, a senior Chemistry major, recently presented his research, “Synthesis of Novel Nitrosamine, a Nitroxyl (HNO) and Nitric Oxide (NO) Donor,” at the spring National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, held March 30 to April 4, in Orlando, Fla.

Mr. Green gave his research as a poster in the inorganic chemistry poster session where most presenters are graduate students or professors. He presented his work from Dr. Allan Cardenas’ laboratory that design organic molecules capture and release nitric oxide and nitroxyl.

Support for Green’s attendance was provided by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Office of Student Creative Activity and Research.

Information presented at the society’s biannual meeting, which draws more than 8,000 presenters and attendees who are passionate about chemistry and chemical processes, will be shared with an international audience.
