Registration underway for Double Reed Day at Fredonia

Double Reed Day, a day designed specifically for oboists and bassoonists of all ages and levels, will return to Fredonia on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

School of Music faculty members Dr. Sarah Hamilton (oboe) and Laura Koepke (bassoon) will lead a day featuring master classes, chamber music readings, a double reed ensemble experience, an improv session, free minor instrument repairs and faculty and student concerts.

Additional workshops and rehearsals will be taught be Fredonia music faculty members Drs. David Rudge and Paula Holcomb. Brenda Small will be on campus to provide free minor instrument repairs. Jim Mason of Jimboe Products will also attend the event as a vendor.

Teachers are invited to audit the day at no charge (with option to add-on lunch and/or t-shirt). Pre-registration is required for everyone. The registration fee is $30 when registered by Oct. 10, $35 thereafter. More information is available by calling 716-673-3151.
