Secrets of John Buck's unusual methods of carving woodblocks and the challenges that master printers face when printing his prodigious woodcuts will be shared by master printer Brian Shure when he discusses Buck's process in the Marion Art Gallery's exhibition "John Buck: Prints and Sculpture" on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m.

Mr. Shure is currently Master Printer and Director of Anderson Ranch Editions, as well as chair of the Patton-Malott Gallery at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass Village, Colo. He has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown and Cornell Universities, and has printed at Editions Press, Crown Point Press, Graphicstudio, Houston Fine Art Press and Gemini G.E.L. He has also worked with Mr. Buck on several projects over the years, most recently in September 2021.

The gallery talk is free and open to the public.

The Marion Art Gallery is located on the ground floor of Rockefeller Arts Center. Free exhibition catalogs are available to attendees.
