Keynote speaker for Women’s History Month announced

The Intercultural Center, in collaboration with Fredonia Feminists, will welcome Dr. Stephanie James Wilson as its Women’s History Month Speaker on Thursday, March 30 at 6 p.m., in Williams Center Room S204 DE.
The program is entitled: “Preserving our Truths: Stories of Resistance and Persistence - Women who Stepped Up and Stepped In.”
Dr. Wilson, who is CEO of Imani-Grace Cultural Consulting LLC, an educational and cultural consulting firm that creates and manages a cross section of public and cultural programming, curriculum development, as well as museum exhibition design for varied agencies and institutions, will offer a recounting of the powerfully determined local women who redefined their roles and asserted their agency despite being cast as second-rate citizens in Victorian-era America.
Dr. Wilson will honor the memories of dynamic women who have faded from national memory, but believed that the freedom and progress of their community’s image would come only through women assuming vanguard status for their liberation.
