It’s back to live performance for Improv Collective
The audience can expect variety of innovations at the Improv Collective’s fall concert.
After celebrating its 20th anniversary over Zoom, the Improv Collective will return to live performance with its fall concert at Rosch Recital Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.
“This performance of free improvisation is spontaneous self-expression, without previous planning, never to be repeated. Created in the moment, it will be unlike any past concert, or future one,” remarked Associate Professor David Rudge, the collective’s faculty advisor.

Traditional and non-traditional instruments – everything from cellos to Bundt pans – are played by 25 students as they improvise in any and all styles, delivering an innovative and creative musical experience. In fact, the list of instruments is endless, Rudge notes, including car parts, a theremin, ukuleles, saxophones and hand drums, among others.
The concert is free and open to the public. A second public concert will be given in the spring semester.
