History professor Fan to give international talks

Department of History Associate Professor Xin Fan has been invited to give two virtual book talks on his newly published book, "World History and National Identity in China," (Cambridge University Press, 2021) to an international audience this week.

Dr. Fan will be featured at the Edward Said Lecture Series, organized by the Center for Global Governance and hosted by Professor Tugrul Keshin, at Shanghai University, on Wednesday, April 14. He will also speak at the International Center for Studies of Chinese Civilization at Fudan University, hosted by Professor Zhang Ke, on Friday, April 16. Fan was a visiting scholar at Fudan University in the summer of 2018.

Strauss to conduct area concerts

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
