Though the Spring 2020 semester is still young, Tutoring Services, which provides free tutoring in most subject areas, is recruiting students to become part of its staff for the 2020-2021 academic year.

“Working as a tutor can be an extremely rewarding experience. Our tutors provide an important service to the students of this campus while developing skills and broadening their own understanding of their major,” said Adam Hino, Tutoring Services coordinator.

Tutors are paid to work a scheduled number of hours, usually two to four, in a drop-in arrangement. They may also be assigned to work privately with students registered in the Full Opportunity Program, Educational Development Program or Office of Disability Support Services for Students.

“In addition to a paycheck, being a tutor looks great on a resume for students seeking admission to graduate programs or competing for jobs, fellowships and teaching positions,” Mr. Hino added.

Applications are available at Tutoring Services on the fourth floor of Reed Library’s Carnahan Jackson Center for Learning and Scholarship, the Educational Development Program, located in E284 Thompson Hall, or online at https://www.fredonia.edu/academics/tutoring-services

The deadline to apply is Friday, March 13, at 4 p.m. All applications must be submitted to Tutoring Services. For more information, contact Hino at 716-673-3550 or via email at adam.hino@fredonia.edu
