Frerichs joins mixed media artwork exhibition in Iowa

Department of Visual Arts and New Media Professor Timothy Frerichs is participating in “Lines & Layers,” a three-person exhibition presenting a wide spectrum of mixed media artwork, at the Olson-Larsen Gallery in West Des Moines, Iowa. He is displaying 10 one-of-a-kind monoprints on handmade kozo or hemp paper.

Also featured are works by Andrew Kaufman, associate professor and chair of the Department of Art and Art History at Grinnell College; and Susan Chrysler White, a professor of Painting and Drawing. and a Collegiate Scholar at the University of Iowa. The exhibition opened July 26 and will continue through Sept. 7. Olson-Larsen is a contemporary gallery representing 60 fine artists in the Midwest.

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
