Fan writes journal article on Chinese intellectual history

Department of History Associate Professor Xin Fan wrote the article "International Law in Ancient China: Eurocentrism and the Rethinking of Case Studies in Chinese Intellectual History" recently published in the journal Global Intellectual History.

In it, Dr. Fan investigates the Eurocentric root of the international legal system by looking at a case study of the idea that international law existed in ancient China in Chinese intellectual history. Global Intellectual History is a leading journal on intellectual history based at the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom.
