Douglas Vitarelli of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media gave a presentation recently during KidsWeek at the Intrepid Museum in New York City during the schools’ winter break.

His 45-minute session on the Evolution of Animation, which is also the name of a class he taught last semester at Fredonia, was geared to the anticipated age of the audience. He presented information on the history of animation using dinosaurs, beginning with Gertie in 1914 through “Jurassic Park” and ending with PBS’s “Dinosaur Train.”

Mr. Vitarelli, a full-time Lecturer at Fredonia teaching animation, is also an adjunct faculty member at New York University.
