Juan De Urda Anguita, professor of Spanish in the Department of World Languages and Cultures, wrote a chapter in the recent collective volume “La poesía de la guerra civil española; una perspectiva comparatista” (Spanish Civil War poetry; a comparative perspective).

The book gathers texts by academics from United States and several European countries, including the French Serge Salaün, one of the more prominent specialists of Spanish Civil War culture. The collection was edited by Pilar Molina Taracena and published by Peter Lang.

Dr. De Urda´s chapter compares the devices and strategies in two book-long poems by well-known General Franco supporters Roy Campbell and José María Pemán.
