Chautauqua Institution focus of next Brown Bag talk

The first Brown Bag Lunch lecture of the spring semester, “From Chautauqua County to the World: Chautauqua Institution’s Past, Present and Future,” is slated for March 1 at noon.
Presenters include Chautauqua Institution Historian/Archivist Jon Schmitz and Jordan Steves, the institution’s director of Strategic Communication, at Williams Center Room S204.
An overview of the institution through the years will be presented, from its beginning in 1874 to the present time, followed by a look at the future trajectory of what is considered the American center of continuing education and cultural advancement that lies in Fredonia’s backyard. The institution also offers summer employment opportunities to Fredonia students.
Department of Communication Assistant Professor Christopher Dahlie will give opening remarks.
“Back to the Future: Where are we going? What have we learned?” is the theme of the 2022-2023 Brown Bag Lunch series. It is presented by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is free and open to the public, and supported by the Carnahan Jackson Fund for the Humanities of the Fredonia College Foundation.
A free lunch with refreshments will be provided to attendees.
