‘John Henryism’ strategies talk to focus on healthy work study habits

The Intercultural Center, in collaboration with the Black Student Union, is sponsoring a presentation by Dr. Douglas L. Hoston Jr., who will discuss the term John Henryism with a focus on the art and science of successful academic success for marginalized students, at Williams Center Room S204 on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.

“John Henryism: Strategies to Develop Healthy Hard Work Study Habits” will offer attendees a greater understanding of John Henryism and its impact on black and brown communities. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Dr. Hoston is professor of Urban Education at SUNY Buffalo State University.
