Veterans Remembrance Ceremony

Bringing SUNY Fredonia veterans and military affiliated students together with the local community to honor those who have served and remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy.

Veterans Remembrance Ceremony, a tradition on campus.

Facts about veterans on campus:

  • A total of 42 Fredonia students are official U.S. Veterans or Family members in a VA Approved program.
  • Our student veterans reflect over 142 years of cumulative service to the U.S. military and over 24 years of combat experience.
  • 57 Fredonia employees are veterans. See the list here.
  • All major branches of the military are represented within the Fredonia community at large.

Under the leadership of the State University of New York at Fredonia Office of Veterans Affairs, Fredonia holds a service for U.S. veterans around Veteran's Day each fall.

The event, held in the Williams Center, provides a forum through which the university and surrounding community gather to remember, honor and show their gratitude to the countless men and women who have served our country through the many branches of the Armed Forces.

The highlight of the event is the presentation of the annual Fredonia Veterans Scholarship, made possible by donations to the Fredonia College Foundation.
