Sport Management Department

Are you looking for a career as a sport business professional? If so, Fredonia's Sport Management is the place to be! Graduates of the Fredonia’s Sport Management program will be prepared to enter the fields of sport marketing, sport management, sport administration, ticket sales, event and season promotions, sport journalism, sport broadcast, customer service, event and venue management to name just a few. Part of your experience will be to intern at a professional sport organization where you will apply your theoretical classroom knowledge to a professional setting that reflects your professional aspirations.  

Students find our faculty to be personable, engaged and genuinely interested in the success of each student.  Our faculty bring varied experiences and backgrounds to the classroom.  They have previously or are currently involved in international sport business, careers at ESPN, coaching, sport marketing, management and promotions, as well as serving as legal counsel. Our capstone experience requires our students to engage in a 400-hour internship at an organization involved in sports or sport management/administration.  The Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Jamestown Jammers, Buffalo Bisons, local and regional universities and high school athletic departments, regional and national YMCA’s and local and regional health and recreation centers are just a few of the high-quality internship experiences Fredonia Sport Management students have contracted with.
