Physical therapy top choice among Exercise Science grads at SUNY Fredonia
Six newly minted or recent graduates who earned B.S. degrees in Exercise Science at SUNY Fredonia will continue their education in Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs – the most popular choice among over a dozen Fredonians accepted at health professions schools across the country.

Student shares personal story in collecting donations for Ukraine
“My heart’s there in Ukraine, but I can’t be there to help, so I want to do all that I can. I can’t imagine what my family and friends are going through right now.” That’s the driving force behind the humanitarian aid campaign Christina Witters, a junior Biology major from Rochester, N.Y., is conducting at SUNY Fredonia to support Ukrainians.
Biology professor Lee, alumni keep Fredonia connected to Honduras medical brigades
Fredonia students were not able to staff medical brigades in Honduras during the semester break, but the university’s connection to the Central American country remains intact even during the coronavirus pandemic, thanks to Department of Biology Department Chair and Professor Ted Lee and four alumni.

Senior Samantha Reed, who has majors in Molecular Genetics and Medical Technology, is a co-author, along with Department of Biology Assistant Professor Nicholas Quintyne, of “Keep Calm and Carry on with Extra Centrosomes,” a review article published in the online journal Cancers 2022.
Art sale to support student Honduras experience
A fundraiser – featuring works of art created by more than a dozen area artists – is underway to raise money to purchase medicine and medical supplies that SUNY Fredonia students will take along with them to Honduras in 2023, where they serve on medical brigades that provide needed health care.
Pottery show, sale set in Williams Center
The Annual Pottery Show and Sale, featuring local potters donating a portion of their proceeds to benefit the Health Professional School Preparation Scholarship Fund, will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
