A: Students completing a BS need 3 credits of a foreign language, or have demonstrated skills

Students completing a BA need to complete 5-6 credits of a foreign language (i.e., 115 and 116 level,
or 120/121 in the case of Spanish, or demonstrated skills at the 116 level either through a
NYS Regents Foreign Language Exam, AP exam, CLEP exam, or a study abroad program,
or be a native fluent speaker of a language.

Because students have varying levels of skills in Spanish, and SPAN 115 is intended for students
who have received little to no Spanish instruction in the past, SPAN 115 is a restricted course.

Students who wish to take SPAN 115 should contact the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
