Destination to a Dream

destination to a dream

“Destination to a Dream” (D2D) is a partnership between the State University of New York at Fredonia and Jamestown Community College designed to give you a seamless pipeline from JCC to Fredonia, while offering you the experience of integrated student life at Fredonia.

This program allows all students to be part of the Fredonia experience regardless of academic background. Students who were not previously eligible to attend Fredonia can receive course work at JCC and achieve a GPA necessary to continue their education at Fredonia. Successful students will receive both an associate’s degree from JCC and a bachelor’s degree from Fredonia.

Determining eligibility:

  • The Fredonia Admissions Office will identify applicants eligible for the D2D program.

  • You will be jointly admitted to both JCC and Fredonia.

  • For the first two years, you will attend classes at JCC’s North County Center in Dunkirk. In some cases, you may need to attend classes on the Jamestown campus.

  • You must maintain continuous, full-time enrollment over two years at JCC

  • You will receive thorough advising from Fredonia and JCC academic advisors to determine your courses and help you move seamlessly from JCC to Fredonia at the end of two years.

  • You cannot register for any courses offered at Fredonia until the completion of your course work at JCC.

  • To continue as a Fredonia student after your two years at JCC, you will need to reach the required GPA for your major.

    • 3.0 GPA for education & communications disorders

    • 2.75 GPA for communications

    • 2.5 GPA for social work

    • 2.0 GPA for other majors

Student life:

Students majoring in arts and STEM programs may need to reside on JCC's Jamestown campus.
