Diplomas

The Diploma documents the earning of a specified Degree or Certificate. The Diploma will display the earned degree or certificate, applicable latin honors and degree date. Diploma signatures will consist of those individuals serving in the respective administrative positions at the time of the printing of the document.

Specific major, minor and concentration (curriculum) information is not displayed on the Diploma. Curriculum information is stored and displayed as part of the academic transcript.  Please click here to request an official transcript for acknowledgement of degree and curriculum information.

Diplomas are given to students who have completed all degree requirements and who have been approved by their academic department(s), as well as the Office of the Registrar. There is no charge for the initial diploma.  Please note:  graduates with a hold on their student account will not be issued a diploma until the hold is resolved. 

All diplomas are sent to graduates at the address indicated on the application for degree and are mailed according to the timeframe below: 

May diplomas - mailed by mid-July 
August diplomas - mailed by mid-September
December diplomas - mailed by mid-January 
J-Term diplomas - mailed by late February 

Certified Electronic Credential

Beginning July 2023 SUNY Fredonia will be offering certified electronic diplomas and certificates (CeDiploma/CeCertificate).  The cost will be $17.95 and are available to any student earning their credential May 2023 and later.  Students will receive an email from info@cecredentialtrust.com inviting them to purchase their Certified Electronic Credential.

Students who earned their credential prior to May 2023 are able to request their Certified Electronic Diploma/Certificate via our online store.

Replacement diplomas can be ordered ONLY by the individual graduate.
