  • According to code.org, by 2020 there will be 1,000,000 more jobs in computing than students.
  • Computer science is the highest paid college degree and computer programming jobs are growing at 2X the national average.
  • Less than 2.4% of college students graduate with a computer science degree. That's fewer than 10 years ago.
  • Only 2% of all mathematics and sciences students graduate with a degree in computer science, but 60% of the jobs in math and sciences and computing related.

According to Kiplinger's, Management Information Systems, which is one of the tracks in our Computer Information Systems program, is among the 10 best college majors for your career in 2012 with median salary: $71,000, median salary for recent grads: $51,000, and projected job growth for this field, 2010–2020: 18%.
 
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics: "Two [out of twenty] of the fastest growing occupations are in the Computer Specialist occupational group. Network systems and data communications analysts is projected to be the second-fastest-growing occupation in the economy." Computer software engineers occupation has the maximal wage - $85,430 among all fastest growing jobs. The excerpt below shows the median wages for these types of jobs.
