Faculty Summer Research and Creativity Award

The Faculty Summer Research and Creativity Award program, provides support for faculty research and creative activity conducted over the Summer Session.

Carnahan-Jackson Humanities Fund

The Carnahan-Jackson Humanities Fund was established by David H. Carnahan and the Carnahan-Jackson Foundation of Jamestown, New York in the Fredonia College Foundation in 1993.Funded activities will result in cultural enrichment for the campus and community, include a significant element of community involvement, and benefit more than one campus constituency.

Robert W. Kasling Memorial Lecture Award

This lectureship permits members of the university faculty to present to a general audience aspects of their scholarly and/or creative interests. The lectures, which explain and examine the purposes, methods, and results of a particular area of scholarship or creativity, are intended to broaden the understanding of research being undertaken at Fredonia. The Kasling Award is also accompanied by an increase of $1000 to the recipient's base salary.

William T. Hagen Young Scholar/Artist Award

The award was initiated in 1987 to recognize outstanding professional achievement by a teaching faculty member in research, scholarship, or artistic performance. Only faculty members below the rank of Full Professor are eligible to apply for the Hagan Award. There is, however, no age limit for this award. The award is accompanied by an increase of $500 to the recipient's base salary.

FSA Program Funding Grants

Funding may be available for events, initiatives, etc. that benefit the The State University of New York at Fredonia community as well as enhance the educational mission and goals of the University.

NYS/UUP Joint Labor-Management Committee Individual Development Awards

The Fredonia Individual Development Award Committee (Jessica Finkeldey, Michael Jabot, Stephen Komp, Christopher LaGrow, and Sandy Noble) is pleased to announce the campus guidelines and the deadline for the Individual Development Awards. There will only be ONE round of applications.  

 We are accepting applications for the time period covering July 2, 2019 to July 1, 2020. Please contact Christopher LaGrow at lagrow@fredonia.edu for information about this award.

Kraus/Fredonia Conversations in Disciplines Award

The Kasling Committee invites applications for the  Kraus/Fredonia Conversations in Disciplines Award , a new significant campus honor that has been established this year from the Jon and Wilma Kraus Endowment. The winner(s) of the award will receive a $4,000 grant to organize a seminar on “Conversations in the discipline” to a campus audience in the academic year 2020-2021. This grant is not intended to finance public speakers.

All faculty members from Social Sciences, History, Computer Science, and the Natural Sciences are eligible to apply.
