Diversity Concert 2014

Slam Poet, Kit Yan

On October 6th, Pride Alliance hosted the annual Diversity Concert. As part of Queer history Month, the concert welcomed a variety of student performers and featured Kit Yan, a queer, transgender asian american slam poet from Hawaii. Kit performs entertaining and theatrical slam poetry pieces about his life of multiple identities through stories of family, love and social justice. Kit has been featured on television programs such as HBO’s Asian Aloud, PBS’s Asian America and MYX TV. His most recent performances include headliner at the True Colors Youth Conference, New England Queer People of Color Conference and the Brooklyn Museum.
