The Admissions Office makes an effort to identify and recruit students with talents in the fine arts and athletics, students who have participated extensively in school and community affairs, and students from underrepresented groups. Many of these students are admitted to Fredonia under the Full Opportunity Program (FOP.)
Once at Fredonia, FOP students can take advantage of academic support services provided through the Learning Center. In addition to drop-in tutoring, students can request individual tutoring in a subject. Seats in English Composition (ENGL100) and First Year Seminar are available for first semester FOP students. Members receive weekly correspondance with FOP staff through electronic newsletters detailing important academic news, deadlines and academic support resources.
Staff members teach first year seminar courses, provide support with course selection and registration, mentoring, and academic advisement to Full Opportunity Program participants.
