Information on US Passports

Applying or Renewing Your US Passport

Students, faculty/staff, and community members that travel abroad must travel with an approved travel document.  Citizens of the United States must have a valid US passport to enter other countries; in some cases, student or tourist visas are required to legally enter countries.  For questions about visas, please contact the Office of International Education.

Passports generally take 4-6 weeks to arrive after applications have been submitted, so please give yourself plenty of time to receive your passport prior to travel.  In the event of an emergency, applicants are able to expedite their US passport for an addtional $60.  Expedited passports take approximately 8 business days to arrive after the application has been submitted.

Students that obtained a passport prior to age 18 will need to apply for a new passport.  Information on applying for passports can be found below.  More information on US passports can be found on the United States Department of State website.
