Sophomore Jacob Winn followed up a very successful indoor season by winning the 100m and 200m dashes in his first outdoor event of the season. He took the 100m in a time of 11.10 seconds at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational, beating second-place finisher Dan Mars of Oswego by .18 seconds. Winn's teammate Jordan Lockett finished fourth in a time of 11.43.

Winn won the 200m in a time of 22.62. Locket ran third in 22.89 seconds.

Quillan Shimp turned in a fourth-place finish in the 110m hurdles in 16.45.

Mike Emmel was sixth out of 44 competitors in the shot put with a distance of 13.39m. He was 29th in the hammer throw on Saturday with a toss of 24.56m.

Aidan VanAmburg was 14th of 40 runners in the 400m with a time of 52.24.

Sembel Koshi turned in a time of 4:18.11 for a 27th-place finish out of 86 runners in the 1500m run.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
