Double Reed Day 2017

Double Reed Day is on hiatus for fall 2016. It will resume in fall 2017, at which point you'll be able to find registration info, guest bios, masterclass descriptions, and schedules on this page.

What is DRD?

Double Reed Day at Fredonia is for Middle and High School oboists and bassoonists to come and spend the day working with the double reed faculty and students in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.

The day includes master classes focusing on both solo performing and the techniques of playing; coached double reed chamber music reading sessions, and a final double reed ensemble performance for everyone.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit guest vendors exhibiting double reed instruments, double reed music and supplies available for sale. Also available will be free double reed repairs by a professional woodwind repair technician.
