About Interdisciplinary Studies

Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies at Fredonia

The various Interdisciplinary Studies programs fall under the supervision of the Director of Interdisciplinary Studies, Dr. Jennifer Hildebrand. In partnership with Amy Marshall and the Academic Advising Team, Dr. Hildebrand serves as adviser to the undergraduate self-design students.  She assists the coordinators whenever possible, and the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences financially supports the many programs offered throughout the year. The faculty who serve as coordinators advise the students, control curriculum, and recruit affiliated faculty with specialized expertise to teach. The coordinators also provide programming for the students through such activities as guest lectures, award competitions and ceremonies, newsletter production, social events, community service, student clubs, and internship opportunities.

Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies programs are housed under the Office of the Provost.  All graduate students interested in Interdisciplinary Studies should discuss the various coursework possibilities with instructors in the fields they wish to study and then contact the Graduate Office at 716-673-3808.
