Opening of library exhibit on history of Fredonia and unveiling of Dr. Horvath's official presidential portrait. 6 p.m. Reed Library. Free. Tickets not required.

Annual Maytum Convocation Lecture: Dr. Jean Kilbourne, feminist author, speaker, and filmmaker, internationally recognized for her work on the image of women in advertising, speaks on "Deadly Persuasion: The Power of Advertising." 3:30 p.m., King Concert Hall. Investiture Ceremony, 2 p.m., King Concert Hall. Free. Tickets/reservations required. Reception to follow, Rockefeller Arts Center Plaza. In case of rain, the reception will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center.

Saturday, September 22

Inaugural Day of Service, at times and places throughout the region. Students, faculty and staff roll up their sleeves in partnership with a variety of community organizations and projects. Sponsored by Alesco Advisors, LLC. No charge. Advance registration required.

Backyard Picnic and Cookout: Due to possible inclement weather, this has been moved to the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center, from 1 to 4 p.m. Join President Horvath and members of the University Cabinet as they express their thanks by serving lunch to our volunteers! By invitation only to participants in Inaugural Day of Service and partner institutions.
