View relative location: Using the information gleaned from the voting pattern map described above, the municipalities with higher than average voter turnout and coinciding with State Park boundaries are highlighted. The buffer operation in ArcView was then used to identify the location of municipalities relative to large State Parks. The buffer operation enabled us to determine whether proximity was a contributor to voter turnout.
