Fredonia English Department Internships

The Fredonia English Department provides students with several internship positions in Fenton 277 that give students the opportunity to explore career options, gain professional skills, and develop related work experience. Students can contribute to online and social-media content, help organize literary events, and support alumni outreach.

In addition, students can explore the Career Development Office's resources for locating internships worldwide. Recommended options for students taking majors, minors, or concentrations in the English Department can be found below.

Student Testimonials

Former intern Amandria Guadalupe reflects on her internship at The Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County

"The Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County Bookstore is the primary site for the Literacy Volunteers tutors, helping adult students improve their lives all throughout the county. The bookstore sells gently used, donated books and uses the profits to benefit the program. Some of the books donated are older and more valuable than the rest, and can be sold online to book collectors or those interested in older books. An intern is needed to navigate the internet to search for and decide the prices of the books, and then post them online for all to see! The intern will also help out at the bookstore, assisting customers, organizing shelves, and learning the importance of the workings of a non-profit organization. The intern must know how to navigate the internet and be able to work independently! An appreciation and respect for all types of books is also a must!"
