Impedance Testing

Impedance testing may also be part of the hearing evaluation depending upon the reason for referral. Impedance testing is used to determine the status of the middle ear which is a small air filled space behind the ear drum. This test is helpful in identifying the presence of fluid in the middle ear cavity, tympanic membrane perforations and various middle ear disorders.
