Katrina Fulcher-Rood's research and clinical expertise are in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She currently works with individuals who have Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in order to understand how these individuals use AAC devices to communicate in their everyday lives. Dr. Fulcher-Rood also aims to develop computerized communication aids that will improve communicative performance throughout the individual's disease course. She currently is a co-principal investigator for a National Institutes of Health grant that investigates the ways to accurately diagnose language impairment in bilingual children.
