Audiological Evaluations

Hearing services provided by the Youngerman Clinic

Hearing tests (audiometric evaluations) are routinely done in a sound treated room to prevent interference from outside noise. The audiologist examines the outer portion of the ear for abnormalities and the presence of excessive ear wax.

Clients are equipped with headphones and instructed to listen to a series of tones of various pitches.

Part of the evaluation involves several speech tests that will reinforce the tone portion of the hearing test and also determine the individual's ability to identify words at a comfortable volume.

Responses are recorded on an audiogram, which will help the audiologist determine the type and degree of the hearing loss.
