For most programs, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required in order to be considered for admission. The following programs require higher GPA minimums: 3.0 for all Education programs, 3.0 for Communications Disorders and Sciences, 2.75 for Communications, and 2.5 for Social Work.
If you have completed less than 30 college credits at the time you apply to Fredonia, you must submit a high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores in order to be considered (30 or more completed credit hours means no standardized tests are required).
If you have 45 or more credit hours complete, you must apply into a major - you cannot be an undeclared or liberal arts student. If you plan to major in the Visual or Performing Arts, there will be additional audition and/or portfolio requirements. We do offer Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) status to transfer applicants, so long as you were already an EOP student at the school from which you are transferring (our EOP program at Fredonia is called EDP or the Educational Development Program).
Transferring Your Credit into Fredonia
A maximum of 75 credits can be transferred into Fredonia. Students who have a SUNY/CUNY A.A. or A.S. degree are guaranteed 60 transfer credits. Credits from colleges outside the SUNY system are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
A minimum of 45 credits must be completed here at Fredonia if you wish earn your degree from Fredonia. There's no minimum restrictions on time, so you may earn your degree in as quick a manner as you can complete your requirements.
